It all kicked off the way most great Aussie ideas do, a couple of lawn fanatics sitting around in a Port Stephens backyard, having a yarn over a cold one, admiring a fresh set of stripes.

That's Lee and his son Isaac for you. Lee's spent the best part of twenty years elbow-deep in the fertiliser and chemical manufacturing game, the real industry, working alongside the same manufacturers who supply the big brands and the greenskeepers who tend the courses you'd kill to have in your own backyard. Isaac grew up around it, learning early the difference between a lawn that's merely green and one that stops the neighbours mid-walk.

One Saturday, staring down a fresh bag of fertiliser, Lee reckoned, "These fertilisers cost more than me mower." Isaac chimed in, "There's gotta be a better way to get the good stuff without paying like you're feeding a racehorse." That's when the idea grew legs.

They weren't corporate suits playing dress-ups as lawn experts. They were the blokes who actually knew the source.
